COOKIE POLICY
1. What are cookies?
The website owned by Unión Castellana de Alimentación Ucalsa, S.A. (hereinafter “the web” or “the website”) uses cookies and/or similar technologies that store and retrieve information when you browse. In general, these technologies can serve very different purposes, such as recognising you as a user, obtaining information about your browsing habits or customising the way content is displayed.
Users may configure their browser to notify them of, and reject, the installation of cookies sent by the website. This will not prevent access to the website’s content, although the quality of the website’s operation may be reduced.
The specific uses we make of these technologies are described below.
2. What types of cookies are there?
Depending on their duration, cookies can be divided into:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Session cookies | Cookies designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a website. They are generally used to store information that only needs to be kept to provide the service requested by the user. They expire when the user closes the browser. |
| Persistent cookies | Cookies whose data remain stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a defined period, depending on when the purpose they serve is fulfilled (for example, keeping the user logged in to the services), or until they are deleted manually. |
Depending on their owner, cookies can be divided into:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| First-party cookies | Cookies sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided. |
| Third-party cookies | Cookies sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher but by another entity, which processes the data obtained through the cookies. |
In addition, depending on their purpose, cookies can be classified as follows:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Technical cookies | Cookies that allow users to browse a website, platform or application and use the different options or services it offers, including those the publisher uses to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services, such as identifying the session or controlling traffic and data communication. |
| Preference or personalisation cookies |
This type of cookie remembers your preferences for the tools available in the services, so you do not have to configure the service again every time you visit. Examples of this type include:
|
| Geolocation cookies | These cookies are used to find out which country you are in when you request a service. This cookie is completely anonymous and is only used to help tailor content to your location. |
| Registration cookies |
Registration cookies are generated once the user has registered or subsequently logged in, and are used to identify the user in the services for the following purposes:
|
| Analytics or measurement cookies |
Each time a user visits a service, a tool from an external provider generates an analytics cookie on the user’s computer. This cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will be used on future visits to the website’s services to identify the visitor anonymously. Its main purposes are:
Important: unless the user decides to register for a service on the website, the cookie will never be associated with any personal data that could identify them. These cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that help optimise the users’ experience on the site. |
| Behavioural advertising cookies | This type of cookie extends the information on the ads shown to each anonymous user in the website’s services. Among other things, it stores the duration or frequency with which ad positions are viewed, interaction with them, and the user’s browsing patterns and/or behaviour, as these help build an advertising interest profile. This makes it possible to show advertising related to the user’s interests. |
| Third-party advertising cookies | In addition to the advertising managed by the website in its services, the website offers its advertisers the option of serving ads through third parties (“AdServers”). These third parties may therefore store cookies sent from the website’s services by users’ browsers, and access the data stored in them. |
